We all know the benefits of milk. It’s loaded with vitamins and calcium for strong teeth and bones. And it tastes really great in tea and coffee.
Milk has a downside though: it promotes the production of mucous. Spitting out this by-product is frowned upon, so we swallow the stuff. Our digestive system is not designed to process so much mucous, so the upshot of this excessive intake is flatulence.
You may pooh-pooh this; but bear in mind that scientists are already examining ways of harnessing methane from the gaseous emissions of cows and sheep.
Makes you drink, doesn’t it?

I personally dont drink milk…nothing ethical, mind, just don’t like it. I think we, as babies, were weaned from our mothers for a reason….we have gotten the antibodies and nutrients we need at that stage of our development and bonded with our mothers..what other animal still drinks milk (from their mothers or any other animal for that matter) beyond their early childhood?
Just doesn’t seem right or necessary, somehow….
You make a good point!
