Cape Town has already exceeded its annual rainfall average for July. Nothing gets dry. Ever. The ironing hangs in the laundry, week after week, and dear Mildred says, “Eish, it’s too wet to iron”. I’ve been reduced to wearing those old clothes in the back of the cupboard that never quite made it to the charity pile.
One positive thing though, is that my Green Cross brogues have developed a rather distinctive odour, which rather nicely complements the pale green tinge that is growing on the exposed upper areas.
